For the Kansas city Chiefs, the highlight of Saturday's 26-13 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their preseason opener changed into undrafted rookie operating returned Carson Steele introducing himself to the NFL in bully-like fashion. Steele's first skilled raise featured two broken tackles and gained 20 yards. He then ended the power with a fourth-and-1 handoff for a touchdown. It changed into an emphatic debut for a participant who become listed as a fullback on the Chiefs' first unofficial depth chart. probably the most massive part of those highlights is that Steele changed into the single again in the formation. midway throughout the 2d quarter, he changed into the fourth working back to take the field. He ended up leading the crew in rushing makes an attempt and yards — and scored the crew's most effective landing of the night. After Monday's practising camp apply, Chiefs' head coach Andy Reid used Steele's performance to remind individu

Tuesday training camp notebook: Replacing Hollywood Brown (and more) from Matt Nagy

Kirby Lee- With Brown out for the next few weeks, Kansas City’s offensive coordinator discussed the team’s response. Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy addressed the media on Tuesday — Day 17 of full-team training camp practices at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph. Nagy spoke to the press on a number of topics, beginning with the No. 1 story surrounding the Chiefs at the moment. What measures will Kansas City take now that wide receiver Hollywood Brown is out for the foreseeable future? Replacing Brown Brown suffered a sternoclavicular (collarbone) post dislocation during the Chiefs’ preseason loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. At Tuesday’s padded practice, Nagy and the offensive staff gave veteran receiver Justin Watson more opportunities with the first team. “J-Wat has been so great,” said Nagy. “He’s invaluable in the fact of just understanding every spot. So for him to kind of know this offense where he’s at, steps right on in. W

Xavier Worthy ‘adapted to the game speed pretty well’ in Chiefs debut

Photo by Kevin Sabitus/Getty Images On Monday, Kansas City’s first-round wide receiver reflected on his first NFL experience against the Jaguars. On Saturday night, the Kansas City Chiefs’ rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy made his much-anticipated debut during the team’s 26-13 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in their preseason opener. With all the excitement surrounding Worthy’s blazing speed and playmaking ability, the Chiefs wasted no time before trying to showcase their first-round pick. On the very first offensive play, Worthy motioned into the slot to help him build momentum that could create an opening for a deep pass. But at the last second, the Jaguars’ defense shifted. It blitzed a cornerback toward Worthy while rotating a safety over the top of the speedy receiver. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes quickly recognized the change, finding an open pass to Hollywood Brown in the space vacated by the safety. “[The defense] rolled into Cover 1, so it took away my pla

Jaden Hicks ‘content’ with debut performance Saturday night

Nathan Ray Seebeck- On Monday, Kansas City’s rookie safety discussed the Jaguars game and showed appreciation for Justin Reid. Among the few bright spots in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 26-13 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Saturday’s preseason opener was the play of rookie safety Jaden Hicks. Taken out of Washington State with the 133rd selection in April’s NFL Draft, Hicks played 27 defensive snaps against the Jaguars (47%), totaling three tackles — one of them for a loss. Speaking after Monday’s practice at the team’s training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Hicks was reasonably happy with how he played. “I would say I’m content with it,” he said of his performance. “There are some plays that I could have made — still plays to be out there. Overall, I think I did all right.” Hicks said he needs to keep pushing through and finishing. “Some plays,” he recalled, “I was getting a little tired, playing on special teams and stuff like that.

Travis Kelce Involved In 2 Altercations at Kansas City Chiefs 2023 Training Camp

As the temperatures rise in the middle of the summer in the beginning of training camp so do the temperatures on the field and inside the players. Things got a little testy and emotions boiled over at Kansas City Chiefs training camp on Saturday after Travis Kelce caught a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes. In a video recorded by fans at training camp, the All Pro tight end seemed to take exception to the defender swatting at the ball after the catch was made and touchdown scored and threw a punch at the defensive player. Scuffles between teammates are common during training camp. It seems especially true when Kelce is involved. This is the second straight day he's given an after the play punch to someone for trying to go after the ball. Kelcy got into it with a corner back on Friday. There seemed to be more extracurricular activity than usual yesterday, and Kelce was agitated with a referee a few plays earlier in the same offensive session that this altercation had occurred wi
