The Kansas City Chiefs have gotten off to a strong start to the season.

They haven't blown teams off the field, and their offense still seems to be a work in progress, but all that matters is that they're 3-0 after three weeks.

Nonetheless, people can't help but notice that Travis Kelce has virtually been a non-factor thus far, at least on the stat sheet.

So far, he's been held to just eight receptions for 69 yards, with his longest catch going for 23 yards.

Unsurprisingly, that has led to plenty of speculation and narratives about the future Hall of Famer, with some claiming his play is declining because of his age, and others — most of them — thinking he's distracted with everything that's going on in his life.

That's why HC Andy Reid went out of his way to claim that defenses are still giving him the same treatment, so they clearly don't feel that way about Kelce:

"I know people are saying that he's old or that he has distractions, but defenses don't think that," Reid told reporters.

Truth be told, it's hard not to feel that way if you're a Chiefs fan.

Kelce is one of the greatest players in his position, and he doesn't have anything else to prove at this point.

Then again, it's also a fact that his production has taken a dip since he started dating Taylor Swift, starring in commercials and whatnot.

That might be related to the coverage he's facing, his age, a coincidence, or just a combination of all of the above.

Whatever the case, Kelce has most definitely earned the benefit of the doubt, and people should know better than to count him out already.
