In Week 1, the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs stood their ground at home, getting the best of the Baltimore Ravens in a highly anticipated AFC Championship Game rematch.
Although the Chiefs were able to defeat the Ravens in the NFL season opener, K.C. has been dealing with a significant concern after newcomer Marquise Brown suffered a serious shoulder injury during a preseason game.
With the receiving corps being the Chiefs' primary focus during the offseason, Brown was one of their most significant acquisitions, as the veteran wideout was expected to be a consistent target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the passing game.
Unfortunately, there appears to be no telling when Brown will be able to make his debut for the Chiefs, as he has been placed on IR and is headed for surgery.
Chiefs athletic trainer Rick Burkholder recently gave a somber update about Brown's status.
"Everybody involved felt like it was a little too risky to play without him being operated on," Burkholder said, via Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports.

This is a devastating blow for the Chiefs, as they had high hopes that Brown would be a potential game-changer and a much-needed weapon at Mahomes' disposal.
However, the Chiefs added talented rookie receiver Xavier Worthy in the 2024 NFL Draft and were able to bring back veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster, so they might be able to hang tough with this crew until Brown can return to the field.
