Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was back in practice with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday after agreeing to contract terms that made the reunion official.
Smith-Schuster's stint with the New England Patriots lasted just a year — and he now finds himself in a crowded Chiefs wide receiver room. At the podium, linebacker Drue Tranquill shared an amusing story from Monday morning.
"Nick [Bolton] was saying he was getting treatment on the table [Monday], and he's like, 'That voice sounds so familiar,' and he looked up. And JuJu's like, 'What's up brother?'" smiled Tranquill. "I look forward to meeting JuJu and getting after it. I hear he's a great player. Him and [Patrick Mahomes] have great chemistry, and I think he missed [a few] games and still almost had 1,000 yards for the team a few years ago. He'll be a key addition for us and help us."
Smith-Schuster played 16 games in 2022, missing just one due to a concussion. He finished the season with 933 receiving yards, second only to tight end Travis Kelce. Smith-Schuster is expected to speak to the media on Tuesday.
