Tempers are rising with the temperatures in St. Joseph.
Tensions and temperatures have been running high in St Joseph, Missouri, at Kansas City Chiefs training camp. The first practices in full pads often lead to tempers flaring, even among teammates.
Last year, reports of some intense moments came out, and this year is no different.

When asked about the recent heated exchanges between players, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo told Monday’s media that he didn’t take issue with any extracurricular activity.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being chippy, as long as we remember that we’re all on the same team and that there’s some respect there,” Spagnuolo explained.
Spagnuolo said that training camp is the ideal place, especially for veterans who will not receive many reps in preseason games, to condition themselves for the physicality of the regular season.
“The game’s physical,” Spagnuolo stated, “So, somewhere, you got to work on it, and to me, it’s out here (at camp) when you have pads on.”
Spagnuolo promotes the mentality that there is no proverbial “on-off switch” in the NFL. An image that Spagnuolo has circulated among the defense depicts an on-off switch with the off crossed out, which he believes encapsulates the efforts he expects.
“They know when they step on the field, that’s how you have to play,” he told his players, referring to the on-off switch. “When you take plays off, we don’t get enough of them (in camp), we have a lot of walkthroughs, so the reps that we do get in the morning, we have to take advantage of, and they’ve got to be full speed.”
