EA Sports started rolling out their “Madden 25” player ratings on Monday morning, beginning a week-long release schedule with wide receivers and safeties.
Let’s see how the Kansas City Chiefs’ players were rated:

Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice are 81 overalls, sharing the highest-rated Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver room. Last year, when “Madden 24” was released, Kadarius Toney was the highest-rated Chief at 81 overall. In “Madden 25,” Toney is rated the third highest overall of 77.
The Chiefs do not lack speed on their team. Xavier Worthy is properly rated as a rookie in Madden, with a 75 overall. Worthy’s speed rating of 98 is tied for the second fastest player rating with Detriot Lions Jameson Williams. Tyreek Hill leads all wide receivers with 99 speed. Brown and Rice have a 95 speed rating.
Overall rating
* Hollywood Brown: 81
* Rashee Rice: 81
* Kadarius Toney: 77
* Mecole Hardman: 76
* Xavier Worthy: 75
* Justin Watson: 74
* Justyn Ross: 72
* Skyy Moore: 72
* Montrell Washington: 68

Free safeties
Byran Cook leads the way with a 75 overall on defense back but lacks a lower score in agility and jumping than Deon Bush. Cook does have an impressive 90 speed rating.
Overall rating
* Byran Cook: 75
* Deon Bush: 66
Strong safeties
Justin Reid is once again the highest-rated defender in the secondary for the Chiefs. An 83 overall with a 91 speed rating means Reid is going to be flying all over the field.
Overall rating
* Justin Reid: 83
* Chamarri Conner: 74
* Jaden Hicks: 70
* Nazeeh Johnson: 65
The bottom line
The high speed and catch ratings for Chiefs wide receivers mean they are going to be fan favorites to play on “Madden 25.” Patrick Mahomes spinning the ball only means wide receivers have a chance to increase their overall rating throughout the year. I would not be shocked to see Worthy finish with an overall rating in the 80s by the end of the season.
It might seem like the safeties are rated lower than expected, but they were around the same as last year — a season in which they won the Super Bowl. I believe they rated Reid and Cook just fine. I'm curious how the ratings will change before the season if Madden updates anything during training camp.
